Meet Dr. Sara Allen
My name is Dr. Sara Allen, DAOM, owner and acupuncturist of Allen Acupuncture & Wellness, LLC. I am Double-Board certified: NCCAHM national board-certified in Oriental Medicine, and Fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine (FABORM). As a licensed acupuncturist in South Florida, I have a passion for helping people find natural ways to solve real health problems like fertility, pain, and allergies.
After a career as a teacher, I graduated from Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine with a Master’s and Doctorate in Oriental Medicine. Because teaching is a part of who I am, I have taught for several years at the acupuncture school and continue to train interns in the clinic.
Why did I become interested in acupuncture and Oriental Medicine? It’s a long story, but I was always interested in medicine! As a small child, I would pour through my mom’s nursing books, reading up on anatomy & physiology, diseases and treatments. After a mission trip to Ecuador, I decided to become a doctor, and studied pre-med and chemistry in college.
My mother, a nurse, was suffering with 30+ food allergies. Going places and eating out were scary challenges. I was determined to find a cure for her. Then, her doctor recommended that she try an allergy elimination therapy with an acupuncturist. She had her doubts about it, but after many treatments, she was healed of her allergies. We were thrilled to watch her eat birthday cake for the first time!
Now that she was fine, I focused on my other passion: education. Fast forward 15 years… I was starting to deal with an increasing number of allergies myself, finding my foods were becoming limited. After tracking down a local acupuncturist for the same allergy elimination treatments, I also left behind my allergies!
This made me want to understand how it worked. The more I learned about Eastern medicine and acupuncture, the more it made sense to my Western medical and chemistry background. My own allergy elimination reminded me of my original passion to help people get rid of their allergies!
So I enrolled in acupuncture school… During my studies, I learned so much more than how to help people with allergies. I also love helping people get rid of their pain, regulate hormones and the immune system, and improve their stress and mental health. And all my years of working with young people as a teacher gave me a special skill-set and desire to do pediatrics.
I use many therapies in my practice: acupuncture and acupressure, electro-acupuncture, auricular (ear) therapy, laser therapy, herbs and supplements, allergy elimination, cupping, food therapy and lifestyle management. Check out the “Specialties” and “Therapies” tabs for more info.

Meet Dr. Jessika Negrin
I’m Dr. Jessika Negrin! I am a NCCAHM board-certified, licensed acupuncturist and Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine practicing at Allen Acupuncture and Wellness. I have a Master’s degree and Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, and have completed advanced certifications in head and neck acupuncture as well as mental health using Five Element acupuncture.
It’s important to me that patients feel heard and respected and make progress in their treatments. I use a genuine and honest approach, prioritizing careful assessment, clear communication, and treatments tailored to each patient’s individual needs. My specialties are working with patients seeking care for pain, stress, digestive concerns, and overall wellness, and also provides esthetic acupuncture and microneedling services.
Combining technical skill with compassionate care, I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where patients feel empowered throughout their healing journey.

Meet Li Zhang
My name is Li Zhang, I’m a NCCAHM National Board-Certified Acupuncturist and licensed in Florida. I graduated from University of Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine with Master’s degree in Oriental Medicine and a second Bachelor’s in Health Science.
I was born in China and immigrated to United States with my family. Growing up in China, I had struggled with upper respiratory problems as a kid, especially during winter time. For as long as I can remember, my grandmother will make me herbal teas at the first sign of cold or flu–and that has saved me over and over again.
I’m passionate in helping people improve their quality of life by managing stress and pain naturally, eliminating allergies and supporting their immune system to achieve a balanced life.

Meet Dr. Diana Mendoza
My name is Dr. Diana Mendoza. I am a licensed acupuncturist and Doctor of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (DAHM) as well as an NCCAHM Diplomate of Oriental Medicine. I have been serving in the wellness community since 2014 at Optimum Balance, assisting people accomplish their health, beauty and fitness goals. As a Licensed Esthetician, helping people feel and look their best, I felt the call to go deeper, to learn more. I attended the Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine, graduating with a second Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science and a Master’s Degree in Acupuncture. I also recently completed my doctorate at the Daoist Traditions College of Chinese Medical Arts in Asheville, NC.
With my experience and knowledge, I am not only able to help people with their beauty needs, but I also treat people for a wide variety of conditions, from allergies to pain to digestive and fertility support.
I use many therapies in my practice, including cupping and guasha, acupuncture and electro-acupuncture, tuina/medical massage, microneedling, allergy elimination and laser therapy as well as herbal, lifestyle and food therapy recommendations. I believe in getting to the root of the problem and treating the whole person to get results that last.
